WOW Its May!!!

Well, I have not been very successful about posting blogs on here. Oh well. I keep trying! A lot has gone on in my life lately. Most of it stressful. Some of it positive. Lets talk about a positive! For the past 9 years I have been having this strange lower abdominal pain, which I figured was just related to 'girl pain'. It started to get worse and worse, and nearly everyday. It was so bad all I could do was lay in bed, curled up in a ball until the pain went away. I had not gone to see a doctor about this because we did not have any medical insurance for a long time. Finally, back in December, we bout some insurance. I went and saw a OBGYN doctor. She was so nice!! She said from what I was describing, it sounded like a bowel or bladder problem. They did an ultrasound of my uterus/fallopian tubes just to make sure. A cyst was found, and on a 2nd ultralsound it had gone away. She suggesed that I have PBS....painful bladder syndrome....and told me to follow a specifice diet, and slowly introduce certain foods, and see if I felt any pain from eating them. So it did. And, finally, after all these years, I have learned that I cannot eat CHOCOLATE, coffee, tea, any kind of fruit juice or anything carbonated. Those foods have been causing my bladder it get irritated, and have 'flares' and cause me all that pain!!! There were a ton of foods on the list, but those were the ones that were causing any pain. I don't care about having to give up soda pop, or coffee or tea....but it is not so easy when it comes to choclate.....because it isn't just like, a candy bar that I cant eat....it is anything that has coccoa in the ingrediatns....No chocolate milkshakes, yougurt, cereal, cookies, brownines, pudding, fudge....not even like, chocolate flavored intanst breakfast or cereal bars or anything!! And of course, no ice cream with anything chocolate in it.

Of course, it is MORE than worth it to give this stuff up to not be in that terrible pain.....

  1. Oh girl, that's a lot of stuff to have to give up. That's great that you have done it though! I'm sure after all of the pain you were having, it was worth it.
